Disney VoluntEARS in the Netherlands Help Create 7,118 Birthday Boxes for Children Living in Poverty

The Walt Disney Company Netherlands celebrated 35 years of VoluntEARS by taking part in a 24 hour packing marathon at Stichting Jarige Job to create special birthday boxes for children.

Stiching Jarige Job is a charity that was founded in 2010 to help make children’s birthdays special by sending boxes filled with decorations, cake mix, treats and gifts.

From 6th – 8th June, Disney VoluntEARS in the Netherlands supported Stichting Jarige Job by preparing the boxes as part of a 24 hour packing marathon, ensuring everything was ready the day before posting and organising the products into storage. Hundreds of volunteers then helped create thousands of birthday boxes for children who live in poverty and who unfortunately cannot afford to celebrate.

The very successful marathon resulted in 7,118 boxes being packed and ready to go, meaning over 7,000 children living in poverty received a birthday box this summer.
